NEW Contraceptive Pathway Now Available
Partners For Kids, in collaboration with subject matter experts from Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Dayton Children’s Hospital, have developed a contraceptive pathway. It is designed to assist providers in providing timely and effective contraceptives for sexually active adolescent females. Resources within the pathway include, but are not limited to:

  • Patient handouts to help personalize contraceptive methods
  • Comprehensive options for IUD, implant, injection, pill, patch and ring contraceptives
  • How to manage breakthrough bleeding associated with hormonal implant
  • Best practices for switching between contraceptive methods
  • Suggestions for changing hormone or strength in response to unwanted side effects

If you have questions or are interested in scheduling a comprehensive review of the pathway with our clinical pharmacist, contact PFKPharmacy@NationwideChildrens.org for the Central Region and PFKPharmacy@childrensdayton.org for the West Region.
