Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a collaborative and innovative tele-mentoring program designed to create virtual communities of practice by bringing together subject matter experts and community providers. This guided-practice model uses videoconferencing technology, brief didactic presentations, and case-based learning to create an “all teach, all learn” environment, where best practices are shared to reduce health disparities, improve patient outcomes in underserved areas and provide specialty care to patients in their own communities.
