When should children have their first dental visit? The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend the first dental visit by age one. Early preventive dental visits by a child’s first birthday are associated with higher subsequent preventive visits and lower restorative or emergency visits.
The Partners For Kids’ Oral Health team offers a fun and engaging video to share with parents and little ones. The video include four important tips to keep teeth clean and healthy from the day the first teeth come in. This video and additional oral health resources for families and providers are available in the Oral Health Toolkit.
