NEW Resource to Help Patients Afford Asthma Inhalers

Partners for Kids recognizes that the cost of medication can be a barrier to a patient’s ability to obtain medication. To support providers in caring for uninsured and underinsured patients, a resource has been developed to assist providers in finding the most affordable asthma controller inhaler for their patient.

This inhaler patient assistance programs resource is available on the Partners For Kids website. Available copay and manufacturer patient assistance programs for each inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and ICS/LABA combination inhaler are summarized in a quick reference table. Copay cards provide additional savings for patients utilizing commercial insurance plans while patient assistance programs may provide free medication to qualifying patients. The lowest cost of each inhaler through GoodRx is also included, as this is another option for cost savings.

The inhaler patient assistance resource is not intended for patients with active coverage through Ohio Medicaid plans.  For Ohio Medicaid inhaler coverage, please review the Partners For Kids UPDL. Please direct questions about Partners For Kids coverage resources to PFKPharmacy@childrensdayton.org.
