September Managed Care Plan Updates

This past month, CareSource has published updates on events and policy changes impacting their organizations

  • Update to BH Provider Service Resolution Process: Beginning August 15, 2022 CareSource’s behavioral health team is changing the way provider issues are handled and escalated. Prior to engaging the BH Resolution Specialist Team, providers should now call Customer Care at 1-800-488-0134 for resolution. Customer Care will provide callers with a call reference number. The call reference number can be used to track progress on any issues and escalations and provide a reference point for any subsequent escalations, including to the BH Resolution Specialist Team, if the Customer Care team is unable to resolve the issue or escalation. Click here to read more about this change.
  • Provider Alternative Format Request: Providers can now see whether their CareSource members have requested an alternate format for communications when they check the member’s eligibility. This information can be found on the Provider Portal under the member eligibility screen. Click here to review the update in detail.
  • Next Generation of Ohio Medicaid Managed Care – Payer ID Change: Effective December 1, 2022 CareSource is required to change their Payer ID. The CareSource Payer ID is changing from 31114 to 0003150 for Ohio Medicaid providers only.  Providers must reflect the CareSource Payer ID change when submitting claims with a Date of Service on or after Dec. 1, 2022.  Click here to learn more about this update.
