VaxCare: An Easier Way To Provide Long-acting Reversible Contraceptives
While there are many contraceptive options available, long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) are considered first-line due to greater than 99% efficacy, favorable safety profile, tolerability and extended duration of action (3 to 10 years). One challenge for ensuring timely administration of LARCs in the office is the high, up-front cost of stocking implants and IUDs. In response, VaxCare has applied the model they have historically used for stocking vaccines to improve in-office availability of LARCs. VaxCare provides LARC inventory to practices on consignment, automates ordering and management and bills the patient’s insurance (medical benefit) on the back end. As a result, partnering with VaxCare can help ensure same-day administration of LARCs to your patients. Most Medicaid managed care plans are currently contracted with VaxCare.
