Mid-Ohio Psychological Services (MOPS), established in 1992, has been participating in Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) since 2022. BHI is a strategy to integrate behavioral health clinicians in primary care practices. MOPS is currently working with Pediatric Associates of Lancaster, Step-by-Step Pediatrics, and Westerville Pediatric Specialists Inc. and has been very successful in their BHI work. Across these three practices, MOPS has provided:
- Over 1400 hours of therapy service
- Over 300 touchpoints with engaging families in care with warm handoffs and social, emotional, and behavioral health education
Ninety-six percent of primary care clinicians strongly agree that integrated care has made a difference for families and is an integral part of care. One clinician stated: “I love having a behavioral health clinician in the office and have more readily accessible help for my patients. It is an amazing benefit. My patients are very happy when I tell them they are in the building and have availability to provide resources and support.” A behavioral health provider said: “Integrating physical health and behavioral health is critical to treating the whole child, whole body. Working together with the primary care clinicians to support the family creates faster outcomes, higher patient satisfaction, and healthier lives.”
